The Flare™ series is a family of high-throughput video cameras featuring high-resolution and high frame rate image sensors and a reliable CoaXPress industrial video interface. FEATURES SPECIFICATIONS DOWNLOADS ACCESSORIES VIDEOS/PHOTOS CAMERA SELECTOR CAMERA CALCULATORS FLARE CX FEATURES HIGH RESOLUTION AND HIGH FRAME RATE The Flare™ series is a family of high-throughput video cameras featuring high-resolution and high frame rate image sensors and a reliable CoaXPress industrial video interface. Available CMOS image sensors include the CMV12000 12.6MP sensor and the CMV50000 47.5MP sensor. All sensors use global shutter technology, with high-sensitivity and low-noise pixel designs. Monochrome nad color models are available to suit a variety of applications in industrial and scientific imaging, high speed motion analysis, wide area observation, as well as virtual reality and special effects. GLOBAL OR ROLLING SHUTTER SENSORS The CMOS image sensors used in the Flare camera series feature global shutter capability. Global shutter means all pixels across the sensor capture light during the same period of time. In contrast, sensors which use a rolling shutter technique will stagger the start of exposure throughout the rows of the image. This leads to motion artifacts in fast-moving scenes, as well as uneven frame illumination if bright flashes occur partway through the exposure period. HIGH SPEED DIGITAL VIDEO OUTPUTS With sensors producing hundreds if not thousands of megabytes of video data per second, systems using the Flare series cameras need a way of accessing this stream of information. As such, these cameras are designed with CoaXPress digital video outputs, which are standardized and well-established. System designers have a wide variety of CoaXPress infrastructure parts to choose from, including PC frame grabber cards, cables, fiber-optic range extenders, and of course uncompressed solid-state video recording systems such as the DVR Express Core 2. LOW POWER, LOW HEAT, LOW NOISE The Flare cameras are designed with premium image quality in mind. One of the factors that impacts image quality the most is noise, which can be introduced in a variety of ways. One major driver of noise is the sensor temperature. To minimize the effect of temperature on the image noise, the Flare cameras are designed with low-power electronics and effective passive cooling. The overall power consumption is low for all models and most generated heat is dissipated convectively or conductively through the all-aluminum chassis, which acts as a heat-sink to the internal electronics. MULTIPLE LENS MOUNT OPTIONS Choosing a lens for any camera system can be as involved as selecting the camera and other integral system components. Fortunately, the Flare camera series offer interchangeable lens mount options that match with many off-the-shelf lens types available today. These include F-mount, Canon EF-mount, C-mount, metric mounts (M42, M58) and more. Contact IOI for lens recommendations to best fit your application.

A simplified user interface has been fine-tuned and focused on getting the video needed. VIDEOS/PHOTOS 2NDLOOK DATASHEET SIMPLE, EFFICIENT DESIGN 2ndLook is all about ease of use and is the culmination of our 20+ years of experience in developing software and hardware for video recording. A simplified user interface has been fine-tuned and focused on getting the video needed... fast. The new "Record" and "Review" perspectives separate the two main operations showing the right controls when needed. Showing live video instantly is an easy way to see that the system is configured properly. The pronounced recording time and capacity bar give a user the confidence that a long term test can be completed successfully. Connect a camera and then hit Record; it's that easy! BUY NOW FREE DEMO FEATURES IO INDUSTRIES GENICAM DRIVER Some camera manufacturers require that their driver software be used which can restrict the devices that can be connected to the PC after installation. 2ndLook uses a camera-independent GenICam driver which means that camera manufacturer software doesn't need to be installed when using GenICam-compliant USB3 Vision or GigE Vision cameras. This makes using cameras from different manufacturers a seamless process and doesn't interfere with peripheral devices like USB3 external drives. NEW BENCHMARK TOOL The new Benchmark tool enables the testing of a recording drive without needing a camera. This tool gives a user the confidence that the capacity and recording speed will be able to match the recording requirements. Only need a short recording? 2ndLook can buffer frames to memory and read them out when the recording is complete. The Benchmark tool will indicate if the recording drive won't be able to keep up with the speed of connected cameras and how long the system will be able to record directly to memory without dropping frames. HIGH-SPEED RECORDING FOR ALL Using 2ndLook and a laptop with two USB3 ports, a USB3 Vision camera can be recorded right to an external USB3 drive. Additionally, most USB3 cameras can be powered over their cable which means that video can be recorded and reviewed, at hundreds of frames per second, all working from a consumer grade laptop. FLEXIBLE FILE-BASED RECORDING 2ndLook has the ability to record directly to many popular file formats. As an example, choosing to record directly to TIFF files will mean that when the recording is finished, the images are immediately available for processing by an image analysis application. 2ndLook can get the video needed, in the format required, quicker and easier than ever!

FEATURES SPECIFICATIONS DOWNLOADS CALCULATOR ACCESSORIES VIDEOS/PHOTOS RODEO FEATURES THE RELIABLE COMPANION TO YOUR HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMERA Rodeo is an ultra-compact, rugged, video recorder, designed for RAW recording from high-performance video cameras. Rodeo is ideal for demanding video recording applications such as volumetric capture, 4D face/body scanning, test range recording and industrial trouble-shooting; and is an excellent choice for multi-camera setups. Rodeo features either a CoaXPress 2.0 or Camera Link video interface and reliably records long sequences of video from a broad range of computer vision and scientific cameras made by IO Industries and other camera manufacturers. DEPENDABLE HIGH SPEED VIDEO RECORDING Rodeo’s FPGA-based recording engine supports a recording rate of over 2 GBytes/sec to an internal high-performance solid state drive. This drive stores recordings until they can be transferred through the 10GbE interface for further processing. At present, the maximum storage capacity is 7680GB, allowing long clips (or many shorter clips) to be recorded before the storage fills up. Video files are stored in a RAW format using the native bit depth of the camera's output, up to 16-bit quality. Color video is not demosaiced until further into the workflow. With Rodeo CoaXPress, lossless encoding is employed during recording, providing more efficient storage and smaller file sizes, for longer recording times and faster file transfer times than fully-uncompressed files. PRECISE SYNCHRONIZATION Synchronization is critical in multi-camera arrays, especially in volumetric capture and other 3D reconstruction applications. Multiple cameras connected to multiple Rodeo DVRs can be precisely shutter-synchronized as well as time-synchronized. All frames from all cameras recorded together will have the same timestamps to correlate the images by. IEEE-1588 Precision time protocol (PTP) is supported through the 10GbE interface. Multiple DVRs can be synchronized to a PTP grandmaster clock, or one DVR can be operated as a master and distribute PTP time to the other DVRs itself. Other synchronization options include a SMPTE LTC input, a SMPTE tri-level sync input, and GPIO pins for synchronization between the DVRs as well as with external devices. FAST 10G ETHERNET One of the most convenient features of the Rodeo DVR is its 10G Ethernet connectivity. This interface is used for all configuration and operational control commands, and also for streaming live video to the control software. Best of all, this interface is used to rapidly transfer video recordings from the Rodeo DVR into a network-accessible shared folder. An SFP+ port is provided, allowing either copper cabling or long-distance optical connections with multi-mode or single-mode fiber. LIVE VIDEO MONITORING For low-latency live monitoring, the Rodeo DVR has an SDI video output capable of streaming Ultra HD or Full HD at up to 60fps. When high resolution cameras are connected to the DVR, cropping and scaling features can be used to fit the camera's resolution to the SDI output, allowing anything from the full field of view down to a 1:1 pixel crop to be shown. A wide variety of infrastructure tools are available for transporting, multiplexing, converting and displaying SDI video signals, allowing many live streams from multiple Rodeo DVRs to be simultaneously displayed on one or more monitors. Live video streaming is also supported through the 10GbE interface, with adjustable control over the bandwidth used for this, so that the control PC can display live video from many Rodeo DVRs simultaneously. FLEXIBLE CONFIGURATION OPTIONS The Rodeo DVR shares much of the same connectivity and software ecosystem as its close relatives, the IOI Volucam cameras. Whether Rodeo DVRs (and their connected cameras) are used alone in a system, or together in a hybrid system with Volucam cameras, these tools make setup and operation of synchronized multi-camera video recording systems much simpler than ever. A typical configuration pairs each CoaXPress or Camera Link camera with an associated Rodeo DVR, which are connected to a 10GbE network switch and controlled from a single PC. If needed, Volucam cameras can be integrated seamlessly into the same configuration. SDI equipment can be used for low-latency monitoring of each camera through video screens and multi-viewers. IOI's comprehensive control software, StudioCap-VC, can be used by the system operator, or the available SDK can be used to build custom software applications. The software configures the Rodeo DVRs and their attached cameras, as well as Volucam cameras as needed, and controls recording from all devices, all while displaying live video for real-time monitoring. Once recordings are completed, the files can be exported to a network-connected Export Server PC, after which they can be accessed by third party processing software.
