In many manufacturing settings multiple high speed cameras are required
to record processes mainly related to quality control and failure detection.
These cameras are usually both line-scan and area-scan, with many different
frame sizes and speeds. Furthermore, long cabling distances are required
because of the large area of the manufacturing environment.
In this situation,
Streams 5 software is used
to allow the control and networking of many recording systems from one location.
Depending on the recording requirement (compressed, uncompressed etc) these
DVR Systems may be embedded recorders or PC based systems. Some of the factory's
processes require the DVR
Express Blade, others require a PC with powerful Streams
5 software. All systems
are cabled together using cat5 cable for control, and fiber optic cable for
high speed storage.
